Ben Dinkins Landscape Design has a simple, structured process in place to make the design of your landscape as effortless for you as possible. While both plant matter and architecture are key to a stunning and workable design, the hardscape is the backbone of the process, and receives special attention throughout.
Here’s a quick overview of design steps:
1. Design Program
This includes detailed collaboration with client to define the parameters for landscape function and form. A plant palette appropriate for site will be developed at this stage, and existing architecture and client desires will be considered.
2. Early Design Phase
At this stage, schematic drawings are created that will clearly communicate the direction of the overall concept. Preliminary pricing of the installation is thoroughly explored to ensure the final design can be realized.
3. Design Development
Client will provide feedback on the preliminary plans and a well-defined budget will be developed. A final plan will be perfected to include client input.
4. Construction Administration
Complete hands-on project management will be conducted in concert with continued design input throughout the installation of the landscape.
5. Maintenance Consultancy
Client will be connected with professionals specifically equipped to properly care for this new landscape. Site meetings will be conducted by BDLD with the maintenance company twice yearly to guarantee that the design continues to develop appropriately.
Special Note: Fees
While fees vary based on size and scope of the project, design fees are proposed as a lump sum fee. However, construction administration fees are proposed as a cost-plus, fixed fee.
